Endhiran is the highest engrosser of the season but not Robot. According to the latest Box Office reports, though Endhiran is the highest engrosser, but it’s Hindi version didn’t do well.
Reports say that Rajnikanth - Aishwarya starer Robot is perhaps unable to outshine Rnbir Kapoor - Priyanka Chopra starer Anjaana Anjaani in north.
Endhiran crossed Rs.1 billion milestone in southern region while Bollywood thriller Anjaana Anjaani earned around Rs.260 million in the weekend box office. But Robot only managed to get Rs.70 million in north.
Speaking about the weekend box office trend Jayendra Bannerji, Vice President of Satyam Cineplexes disclosed that Anjaana Anjani went with 90% footfall for all the shows, while Robot saw 80% occupancy.Comedy family drama Khichdi was comparitively less with 40%.
Well, the reality lies that Indian audience is better accustomed to take in romance rather than sci-fi adventures unless the actors have a better edge in his native state.
